The Two Great Spiritual Practices

The two great spiritual practices are receiving love (that is, open-heartedly being the beloved of God) and incarnating love. Everything else that is good, true, just, beautiful, excellent, and worthy of praise shoots and flowers forth from this anomalistic conjoined tap root.

  1. I have often suggested Love is beyond emotion and it is the other. A hard concept to grasp, no doubt, but in Non-Duality, the subject and object become one. In human relationships, you no longer separate yourself and compassion is a by-product of that view. This type of love and compassion is clearly possible with a deeper understanding of the nature of the mind. I would also like to point out that Buddhist thought gives a roadmap out of suffering and I believe it works. I raised the question with Dr. Miller and we continue the dialogue. The suffering of others is a primary concern in most Buddhist views.
