Musica Memento 9 ~ Magnificat: VI Esurientes

There are not many who can get me in the mood and spirit of Advent any better than John Rutter, English composer and conductor. The beauty of his Magnificat: VI Esurientes with soloist Patricia Forbes matches the beauty of this liturgical season—my personal favorite.

VI is based on Luke 1: 53-54

The hungry he has filled with good things;

the rich he has sent away empty.

He has helped Israel his servant,

remembering his mercy.
